The Linguistics Minor in CAS
The minor consists of a total of six courses, which normally include the following:

CAS general requirements and the Linguistics Minor
If your major is in the Social Sciences or Natural Sciences, then a Linguistics Minor will automatically satisfy all of your Humanities Divisional Studies requirements.
- That means that a minor in linguistics may replace up to 4 required Humanities courses.
For students who entered the College of Arts and Sciences in September 1995 or after:
- If your major is in the Natural Sciences, you may use the linguistics minor to replace up to 4 Humanities courses toward the 6 courses required in the Humanities and Social Sciences.
- If your major is in the Social Sciences, the linguistics minor may replace both of your required Humanities Divisional Studies courses.
Declare your major or minor
To declare a Linguistics major or a minor in CAS, submit this form to CAS B-3. The code for Linguistics is "1505".
