Chelsea started learning ASL in a Deaf classroom in her middle school when she was about 10 years old. She promptly fell in love, learned as much as she could as fast as she could, and later started tutoring Deaf students in the class. This passion for Deaf education has only strengthened through the years, and now she's a Deaf Studies student here at BU, with plans to continue on in Deaf and Special Education in her graduate work. She also teaches preschool, which she loves so much that it hardly counts as a job, and she is an active E-Board member of the Deaf Studies Club (vice president) and Humans United, Giving Support (secretary). You may have seen members of HUGS out on Marsh Plaza on Fridays giving out free hugs!
